Fernando's Chimichurri Sauce

Our Director of Sales, Fernando Ciurlizza wants to share with you his recipe for Argentinean Chimichurri Sauce; just in time for Forth of July grilling. Chimichurri Sauce can be used as a marinade or condiment for any meat or vegetable. We just like to pour it on everything, to be safe. Enjoy, and have a happy and safe Fourth of July!


1 Shallot, finely chopped

1 Red jalapeno, chopped

4 Garlic cloves, chopped

3 tablespoons Red wine Vinegar or Red Rioja Wine from Argentina

Kosher Salt

1/4 cup, fresh cilantro, finely chopped

1/4 cup, flat leave parsley, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh oregano, finely chopped

3/4 Cups Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Combine shallot, chile, garlic, vinegar and salt in a bowl, and let it sit for 10 minutes

Stir in cilantro, parsley and oregano

Using a fork, whisk in olive oil

Transfer 1/2 of the sauce into a bowl

Place meat in a shallow pan and pour reminder sauce to marinate, chill overnight (3 hours minimum)

Remove meat from marinate, pat dry and grill

Spoon reserve sauce on cooked meat
